Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Radiation Effects Engineer to ensure avionics hardware reliability across Dragon, Falcon, Starship, and lunar programs.

You will interact with design, manufacturing, integration, and mission operations to analyze radiation effects and drive mitigation strategies. The role requires 5+ years in radiation effects, a Bachelor's in engineering, and hands-on experience with data-driven testing, modeling, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering.
  • At least 5 years of professional radiation effects experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support cross-discipline team with radiation test results and analyses.
  • Develop component databases and data interfaces for radiation test data.
  • Coordinate test data availability with design engineers and supply chain.
  • Review PCN changes to maintain radiation qualification status.
  • Develop radiation test standards for components and PCBA tests.
  • Collaborate to refine preferred components across programs.
  • Analyze test data with circuit design and electronics manufacturing teams.
  • Propose design and process improvements based on data.
