Job summary

ARKA is seeking software engineer interns for Summer 2026 to turn signal and image processing into usable software. This onsite internship in Ypsilanti, MI starts mid-May and runs up to 90 days. Candidates must be U.S.

citizens eligible for a Top Secret clearance and pursuing a degree in CS/EE/Physics/Math or related fields. Responsibilities include defining software requirements, building scalable solutions, collaborating with DevOps, and writing robust tests.

Qualifications

U.S. citizen pursuing a degree in CS/EE/Physics/Math or related field.
Interest in learning remote sensing technologies.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Ability to work onsite in Ypsilanti, MI.
Willingness and ability to obtain a Top Secret U.S. Government Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

Define software requirements and specifications with program manager and engineers.
Design and implement scalable, mission-critical software solutions.
Collaborate with DevOps to deploy features and maintain system stability.
Write robust test suites to ensure code correctness.
Refactor and reimplement existing codebases for new platforms.
Participate in all stages of the development lifecycle and team collaboration.
