Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems is seekingRadar Engineers to join a diverse team to create solutions for complex sensor and radar oriented problems. The role involves development of radar signal processors, tracking algorithms, and advanced sensor systems.

You will work with skilled engineers to improve existing algorithms, investigate new approaches from literature, and lead engineering tasks to meet performance goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited school; 2–4 years of relevant experience or a Masters with less than 2 years experience.
  • Experience in radar algorithm development and radar analysis.
  • Willingness to lead a team of engineers, review algorithms, oversee tasks and mentoring.

Responsibilities

  • Support advanced technology radar programs, including development of radar signal processors and tracking algorithms.
  • Collaborate with engineers to improve performance and reduce processing latency; evaluate literature for new algorithms.
  • Deploy and test advanced sensor systems and RF sensors in field environments.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Candidate will support advanced technology radar programs including development of radar signal processors, radar tracking algorithms, advanced sensors in EW environments; simulation of radar systems; field-testing of RF sensors and systems; in addition to the deployment of advanced sensor systems.
  • In this role you will work closely with other skilled engineers as they deep-dive into existing algorithms to find areas for improvement in both performance and processing latency.
  • You will find newer algorithms available in literature to investigate and determine if they can provide improvements to the various radar programs.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a strong demonstration of the skills listed below will also be considered and 2 – 4 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with less than 2 years of prior relevant experience.
  • Experience in radar algorithm development and/or radar analysis.
  • Experience or willingness to lead a team of engineers in solving difficult radar algorithm problems, peer reviewing new algorithms developed internally or obtained from industry, overseeing tasking, and other team lead activities.
  • Must have excellent teamwork skills and possess and show good fundamentals in the following: Digital signal processing Tracker algorithms MATLAB Radar Simulation and Modeling.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with radar simulation along with a strong background in statistics and probability.
  • Candidate with additional skills in the following is desired: Electromagnetics Modern C++ development Familiarity with Linux.
Prerequisites
  • Must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville – North Alabama, AL, area.
  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (as well as maintain) a Final Secret Clearance.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $69,550.00 - $125,725.00 The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
