Job summary

V2X Inc is seeking a Radar Engineer/Scientist Senior to support a Dahlgren, Virginia government customer. The position is onsite and requires an active Secret Clearance.

The role emphasizes systems engineering across the acquisition lifecycle for radar systems such as DBR, G/ATOR, SPY-series, ERDDS and related subsystems. Strong expertise in signal processing and test planning is essential.

Qualifications

  • Must meet one or more of the following: (a) ABET-accredited engineering degree; (b) bachelor in Mathematics, Computer Science or Physics; (c) Master’s in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Physics; (d) Ph.D in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Electronics, Math, CS or Physics.
  • General Sensor Engineering Experience: 10 years with Bachelor, 8 years with Master, 5 years with Ph.D.
  • Specialized Experience: at least 2 years in complex radar system engineering or radar software development.
  • Active Secret Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Support development and execution of systems engineering plans from requirements through design verification.
  • Plan and execute engineering strategies per project acquisition plans.
  • Provide technical analysis and systems engineering support for architecture design, interoperability, specification analysis and development, and system sustainment of supported projects.
  • Develop test and evaluation documentation including lab testing plans and usability documents for SW/MW test articles.
  • Research and develop system/subsystem specifications ensuring compliance and consistency with requirements and information architectures.
  • Support signal processing activities including waveform, clutter management, and electronic protection development; contribute to data collection and analysis of processing system effectiveness.
  • Duties may involve government or contractor office or field environments, including work onboard ships or in dry docks as required.

We are seeking a Radar Engineer/Scientist Senior to support our Dahlgren, Virginia government customer. The position is required to be onsite.

Responsibilities
  • What You'll Do:
    • In support of NSCWDD’s B (Electromagnetic and Sensor Systems) Department, Codes B40 and B60, the program provides sensor systems expertise across the entire acquisition lifecycle from concept exploration through sustainment of US Navy (USN) and US Marine Corps (USMC) radar systems. The systems supported across B40 and B60 include Dual Band Radar (DBR), Ground Air Task Oriented Radar (G/ATOR), AN/SPY-1, AN/SPY-6, Enhanced Radar Data Display System (ERDDS), Enhanced Coherent Data Collection System (ECDCS0, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS), and other sensor systems.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Support the development and execution of systems engineering plans from requirements identification through design verification.
    • Plan and execute engineering strategies in accordance with approved project acquisition strategies and plans.
    • Perform requested aspects of technical analysis and systems engineering support to facilitate aspects of architecture design, interoperability, specification analysis and development, solutions implementation and systems sustainment of supported project.
    • Develop test and evaluation documentation, including laboratory testing plans, new technology evaluation documents, usability engineering documents and laboratory testing of SW/MW test articles developed by the product design agent.
    • Research and develop systems/subsystem specification documents, including compliance, completeness and consistency of component and interface requirements with current and evolving system requirements, information architectures, and systems.
    • Support signal processing activities, to include waveform, clutter management and electronic protection development; designing electronic compatibility into systems; and supporting data collection and analysis to determine effectiveness of signal processing systems.
    • Duties may be conducted in government or contractor office or laboratory environments, as well as field work in direct support of USN/USMC organizations. This may include working onboard U.S. and/or foreign naval ships or vessels. on piers, in dry docks, or other field/non-office environments, as required.

    • Must meet one or more of the following:
    • (a) A Bachelor’s degree from a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum in one of the
    • (b) A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study: Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
    • (c) A Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study:
      • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics
    • (d) A Ph.D degree from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields of study:
      • Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineer, Electronics Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Physics.
  • General Sensor Engineering Experience:
    • General Experience is defined as experience since award of degree. The years of experience can be flexible depending on the indivdual's background and qualifications:
    • (a) Minimum ten (10) years if Candidate has a Bachelor’s degree.
    • (b) Minimum eight (8) years if Candidate has a Master’s degree.
    • (c) Minimum five (5) years if Candidate has a Ph.D degree.
  • Specialized Experience:
    • (a) Minimum of two (2) years of experience in complex radar system engineering, design, analysis, or radar software development.
    • (b) Solid technical background as demonstrated by certifiable experience formulating opinions, decisions and ultimate performance of the tasks specified in a contract statement of work.
  • Other Requirement:
    • Requires an active Secret Clearance.
