Job Purpose: Under the direction of the department supervisor, performs interpretive, patient care, and technical functions to insure proper radiologic diagnosis of patients.
Education & Qualifications: Must be a graduate of an accredited two-year program
Required Licenses/Certifications: CMRT, ARRT, BLS certifications required
Work Experience: 1 to 3 years radiology experience required with preference in hospital setting, including Surgical C-Arm
•Demonstrates the ability to perform specific competencies as listed on the Competency Validation Checklist.
•Identifies patient service requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and other persons in a position to understand service requirements.
•Operates highly complex radiographic equipment within the radiology department, surgery suites and at the patient’s bedside, selecting technical factors to ensure high-quality radiographs using the A.L.A.R.A. (As low as reasonably achievable) standards.
•Maintains radiographic equipment and x-ray rooms in proper working condition. Reports malfunctions and necessary repairs to supervisory personnel.
•Maintains radiology supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies.
•Attends all mandatory education programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to general safety and regulatory compliance.
•Attends all required department-specific education and training programs and can describe his/her responsibilities related to department safety and specific job related hazards.
•Follows the hospital exposure control plans/bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
•Demonstrates proper body mechanics in all functions.
•Wears proper identification while on duty.
