Job summary

Wellstar Health System is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform Diagnostic Imaging procedures across patient age groups and support physicians with imaging data.

This role works under the supervision of a Radiologist or Manager, emphasizing patient-centered care and adherence to safety standards.

Responsibilities

Job Summary: The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide physicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions

• Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to department protocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self and others.
• Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings.
• Evaluates images for technical quality, performs post processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded.
• Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all.
• Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner.
• Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique and hand washing policies.
• Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct.

Required Minimum Education

• Accredited Program Radiologic Technology

Required Minimum License(s) and Certification(s)

• All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated. ARRT-R - ARRT Radiography BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor or BLS - Basic Life Support or ARC-BLS - Amer Red Cross Basic Life Support
