Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures across all patient ages. The role reports to a Radiologist or Manager and emphasizes safe, high-quality imaging within ALARA guidelines.

Responsibilities include image evaluation, post-processing, patient safety, and assisting radiology staff. This is a full-time, on-site position at Wellstar facilities, with a focus on compassionate, patient-centered care.

• Ability to operate Diagnostic Imaging equipment.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with patients and staff.
• Excellent patient/customer service skills with a compassionate approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic Imaging exams in varied settings.
• Evaluate images for technical quality and ensure proper post-processing.
• Assist Radiologist with procedures and protocols; ensure patient safety.
• Adhere to ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Ensure proper patient identification; document procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide physicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to departmentprotocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self andothers. Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performspost processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded. Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique andhand washing policies. Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned.
