Job summary

The Radiologic Technologist at WellStar performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages, providing physicians with data for diagnostic purposes under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

You will uphold ALARA principles to minimize exposure, ensure proper patient identification, and deliver compassionate, patient-family centered care while following strict safety, aseptic, and workflow protocols, and assisting radiologists with procedures as needed.

Qualifications

• Certification in Radiologic Technology required.
• ARRT Radiography certification preferred or required.
• BLS certification required or as stated.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge in Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to department protocol and ALARA principles.
• Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings and ensures proper patient identification.
• Evaluates image quality, post-processes data, and ensures patient safety during procedures.
• Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols as needed.
• Adheres to aseptic technique and handwashing policies; responds to emergencies appropriately.
• Maintains patient comfort and safety; contributes to patient-family centered care.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide physicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to departmentprotocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self andothers. Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performspost processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded. Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique andhand washing policies. Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned.
