Job summary

Wellstar Radiologic Technologist position in Georgia seeks a professional to perform diagnostic imaging for patients of all ages under the supervision of a Radiologist or Manager. You will assess image quality, ensure patient safety and contribute to ALARA practices.

Qualifications

• Certificate in Radiologic Technology or equivalent program.
• ARRT Radiography certification required on hire.
• BLS certification required on hire (Instructor or standard).

Responsibilities

• Perform Diagnostic Imaging exams and ensure image quality.
• Apply ALARA principles to minimize radiation exposure.
• Assist Radiologist with procedures and protocols.
• Maintain patient identification and deliver patient-centered care.
• Adhere to aseptic technique and hand washing policies.
• Respond to emergencies and ensure patient safety.

Job Summary:

The Radiologic Technologist performs a wide variety of Diagnostic Imaging procedures on patients of all ages to provide physicians with data for diagnostic purposes. This position works under the direction of a Radiologist or Manager.

Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

Demonstrates sound knowledge in the performance of Diagnostic Imaging while adhering to departmentprotocol and standards and applies the principles of ALARA to minimize exposure to patients, self andothers. Performs Diagnostic Imaging exams in a variety of settings. Evaluates images for technical quality, performspost processing of data and ensures proper Patient identification is recorded. Provides optimal patient care and assumes responsibility for the patient's needs during their procedures and exemplifies the philosophy of Patient Family Centered care to all. Applies the principles of patient safety during all aspects of patient care and identifies and responds to emergency situations in an appropriate manner. Strictly adheres to the principles of aseptic technique andhand washing policies. Assists the Radiologist with procedures and protocols. Other duties as assigned.
