Job Summary

Perform a variety of radiographic procedures applying ionizing radiation.

Essential Functions

  • All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.
  • Demonstrates competency in performing ERCPs, video fluoroscopies, OR procedures, lumbar punctures, bronchoscopies, enterocolitis, sialography, rhizotomy, facet blocks, endoscopy-tube placements or injections, T-tube cholangiogram, and procedures in trauma, NICU, pacing lab. Performs critical care procedures and demonstrates skill in arthrograms, myelograms, venograms, and troubleshooting complex studies. Must be able to troubleshoot equipment issues and obtain nursing assessments when nursing is unavailable. Assesses patient condition and cooperation, making appropriate care judgments. Notifies nurses and documents infiltrates and reactions. Checks image quality before sending to radiologist, including markers and pertinent information. Documents additional info in PACS or EPIC before marking studies as ready. Operates IVACs, responds to codes and emergencies, and stays updated on organizational changes via email. Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Promotes patient care and safety, manages patient flow, and ensures proper use of equipment and materials. Maintains good relationships with staff, physicians, and supervisors. Assists staff due to shortages, and communicates delays to patients and families.
  • Performs quality checks on images, adds necessary information in PACS or EPIC, and manages billing procedures post-exam. Ensures proper operation of PACS and verifies studies before archiving.
  • Achieves patient satisfaction scores as part of organizational evaluation, adhering to Prisma Health's patient experience standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

  • This is a non-management position reporting to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Completion of an accredited Radiology certification program.
  • Experience: No prior experience required.

In Lieu Of

  • Team members as of 11/08/2020 are grandfathered from the above minimum requirements, pending regulatory approval.

  • SCRQSA - Radiography
  • CPR Certification
