Job description

The Rad Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform radiologic procedures on a specified patient population. The role models behavior aligned with Methodist Le Bonheur’s Mission, Vision and Values and contributes to quality patient care and safety.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and institutional policies and procedures.
• Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment.
• Plan work and complete job responsibilities efficiently and productively.
• Demonstrate professional work behavior and provide excellent customer service in all interactions.

Qualifications

• Education/Training: Technical degree or diploma in radiography.
• Experience: None required; preferred no prior work experience.
• Licenses and Certifications: Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Knowledge and Skills: Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures; ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers; basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, PACS) preferred.

Physical Demands

• Climbing, pushing, standing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, and stooping.
• Exertion up to 50 lbs. occasionally or up to 25 lbs. frequently.
• Requires close visual acuity, including color, depth perception, and field of vision for tasks such as patient assessment, data preparation, and computer usage.
• Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact; exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Supervision

No supervisory responsibilities; occasional demonstration of job duties to other associates and student technologists.
