Job summary

Bay Area Hospital in Oregon is seeking a Radiology Medical Imaging Tech I to perform a variety of imaging exams for patients of all ages and provide reliable results while leading daily workflow.

Qualifications include graduation from an accredited radiology program, ARRT certification in relevant modality, Oregon license or temporary permit, BLS, and pledges Image Wisely and Image Gently; one year hospital experience preferred. Call responsibilities apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
• Current ARRT certification relevant to modality.
• Oregon license or recent graduate with temp permit.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers required.
• Image Wisely and Image Gently pledges must be obtained within 30 days and renewed annually.
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment for appropriate modality.
• Uses sound judgment for patient care, safety and infection control.
• Documents pertinent information as appropriate.
• Consults Radiologist as needed.
• Reviews protocol forms to assure correct exam is performed.
• Interviews and screens patients per protocol.
• Takes rotating call nights, weekends, and holidays; within 20 minutes travel time to hospital.
• Assists in transporting patients.
• Monitors and manages IVs.
• Mentors student externs.
• Restocks and moves supplies.

Position Summary

Principle Duties And Responsibilities

• Operates imaging equipment for appropriate modality
• Utilizes sound judgment in appropriate patient care, safety and infection control practices
• Documents any pertinent information as appropriate
• Consults Radiologist as needed
• Reviews protocol forms to assure correct exam is performed
• Interviews and screens patients, per protocol
• Must be able to take call nights, weekends, and holidays on a rotating basis including special procedures; must be within 20 minute travel time to the hospital
• Assists in transporting patients
• Monitors and manages IV’s
• Works closely with student coordinator, providing guidance to student externs as needed
• Restocks and moves supplies

• Demonstrates the ability to use a personal computer and various software programs applicable to the position
• Demonstrates the ability to operate applicable office equipment

• Exhibits the ability to maintain confidentiality, think and act independently with minimal supervision
• Maintains regular, consistent and punctual attendance at the assigned job location

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Degrees

• Graduate of Accredited Radiology Technology program
• Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologist’s certification (in relevant *modality)
• Current Oregon license or recent graduate of approved program and holds a valid temporary Oregon permit previous to taking ARRT registry. Registry must be obtained within a reasonable time period not to exceed one year (in relevant *modality)
• American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required
• Image Wisely pledge certificate or must obtain within 30 days of hire date and annually by January 30 thereafter
• Image Gently pledge certificate or must obtain within 30 days of hire date and annually by January 30 thereafter
• Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred

• Must be able to use standard and other isolation precautions due to threat of exposure to blood and bodily fluids or infectious diseases.
• Needs ability to communicate effectively through reading, writing, and speaking in person or on telephone
• May require periodic use of personal computer
