Job summary

Southeast Health coordinates and performs diagnostic radiologic cases, operating all radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment while observing radiation safety rules. It provides coverage for the emergency department, surgery, and other situations requesting radiologic procedures.

The role requires ARRT registration within one year of graduation or hire, CPR certification, and graduation from an AMA COE radiologic technology program; a bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 2+ years imaging experience

Qualifications

• ARRT-registered radiologic technologist within 1 year of graduation date or hire.
• Two or more years of imaging experience preferred.
• Graduate of AMA COE radiologic technology program.
• CPR certification.
• Completion of an undergraduate degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and performs diagnostic radiologic cases for patients.
• Operates radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment with strict radiation safety.
• Provides ER, surgery and other radiologic coverage as needed.
• Documents patient information in PACS accurately.
• Charges correct exams and supplies in the hospital information system.
• Communicates accurate patient history and symptoms to Radiologist.

## **Job Description Summary**Coordinates and performs the diagnostic radiologic cases for patients. Operates all radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment and observes all radiation safety rules concerning patients, co-workers, self and others. Provides coverage to the emergency room, surgery and any other situations requesting radiologic procedures## **Job Description****Essential Functions*** Manages all information obtained with strict confidentiality to safeguard patient information from use by unauthorized personnel.* Follows Southeast Health Center’s safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors, and employees.* Follows Southeast Health Center’s infection prevention policies.* Independently handles communications in a manner, which decreases conflict.* Is familiar with and follows hospital wide Radiation Policy and rules set forth by the Alabama Department of Public Health Division of Radiation Control* Understand the preparation required for departmental exams.* Uses the PACS System in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to insure the quality of patient care.* Uses the computer system correctly in charging the correct patient account with correct exams and supplies.* Demonstrates the ability to perform all exams in the department. Has taken the initiative to insure one’s own competency with each exam.* Communicates accurate patient history and symptoms to Radiologist.### **Direct Reports*** None**Qualifications**### **Minimum Experience Required*** Registered by as a Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within one (1) year of graduation date or within one (1) year of hire.### **Minimum Experience Preferred*** Two (2) or more years of imaging experience### **Minimum Education Required*** Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology.* CPR Certification### **Minimum Education Preferred*** Completion of a undergraduate degree**Required Skills/Abilities*** Basic typing and computer skills.* Experience in operating personal computers in a Windows environment.* Customer service oriented.* Annual completion of competency requirements.* Call support to the hospital within 30 minutes of notification.## **Shift**Evening## Shift DetailsSecond## **FTE**1## **Type**Regular
