Job summary

Director of Racquets Country Club in Durham, NC, is seeking a Director of Racquets to oversee all racquets programming, instruction, tournaments, staff leadership, retail operations, budgeting, and court maintenance.

The ideal candidate will combine hands-on leadership with a commitment to exceptional member service and operational excellence. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with 3–5 years directing a racquets program and RSPA certification ideal.

Qualifications

• Three to five years directing an active racquets program, preferably at a member-owned private country club.
• Professional certification through RSPA or equivalent.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant private club experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Program Leadership: Develop and direct tennis and pickleball programs, lessons, clinics, tournaments, leagues, and social events.
• Member Engagement: Increase participation and provide courteous, responsive service to members and guests.
• Staff Leadership: Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and evaluate racquets staff.
• Facility Management: Oversee court maintenance, cleaning, and inspections to ensure prime playing conditions.
• Retail Operations: Manage racquets shop and minor repairs including stringing.
• Financial Management: Develop and manage the department budget and expenses.
• Marketing: Promote programs and facilities and contribute updates to club communications.
• Club Collaboration: Work with other departments to coordinate events and member experiences.
