Job summary

Presque Isle Downs & Casino in Erie, PA, seeks a Track Safety Officer to help secure the stable area, track, and racing operations. You will control access points, support jockey room security, patrol grounds, issue permits and citations, and keep the Winner’s Circle race-ready.

If you’re observant and confident, you’ll be at the heart of racing season with a role that emphasizes safety and compliance. Security experience is helpful but not required, with strong communication and report-writing

Qualifications

• Security experience is helpful but not required.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Must present a neat appearance.
• Ability to read and write reports.
• Able to sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Must be able to obtain appropriate licensing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of visitors, employees, and properties related to horse racing.
• Ensure only authorized personnel and horses enter/exit the Stable Gate area.
• Provide physical security and a visual presence in the stable area.
• Enforce track rules and issue citations as necessary.
• Issue parking permits to authorized individuals and ensure regulations are followed.
• Provide security for Jockey Room personnel and access control.
• Maintain order in the Winner’s Circle and Paddock.
• Limit access to track via Shoot Gate and South Track Gate.
• Perform scheduled foot patrol rounds of the stable area.
• Prepare, file, and update paperwork.
• Write incident reports on any/reportable events.
• Request identification from young-looking entrants and assign wristbands.
• Maintain order on outside apron and assist with crowd control.
• Other duties may be assigned.
