Job summary

Qualifications

• 3+ years as racing official or steward, or equal time industry experience.
• Ability to make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Strong communication with peers, staff and regulators.

Responsibilities

• Assist with formulating race types to ensure competitive fields.
• Communicate with trainers to fill race cards and solicit entries.
• Record entries accurately and verify eligibility for races.
• Relay claims information per procedures in a timely manner.
• Possibly serve as Placement Judge and post official results.
• Assist in Entry-Draw process and data entry in Incompass system.
• Maintain professional relationships with horse owners, trainers and regulators.
• Ensure racing records accuracy and integrity across tasks.
• Support collaboration between trainers, staff and management.
• Identify issues and help create a safe environment for people and animals.
