Job summary

Wellspring Philanthropic Fund seeks a Program Officer for its Racial Justice Program. The role focuses on building power in Black communities and communities of color, challenging anti-Black racism and White supremacy through strategic grants and field support.

The officer will manage a grantee portfolio, collaborate across the program team, and engage funders and communities to advance a more just and equitable society. Requires extensive experience in philanthropy and social justice.

Qualifications

• Minimum of seven years of experience with a social justice organization or in philanthropy.
• Deep knowledge of the criminalization of communities of color and the criminal justice system.
• Ability to think and work intersectionally across race, class, gender and orientation.
• Strong writing, research, problem solving and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% of time.

Responsibilities

• Shape and manage a portfolio of grantees within the Racial Justice Program.
• Collaborate with program team to build out grantmaking strategy and ensure program alignment with WPF goals.
• Engage external funders, community organizations, and partners to advance learning and shared agendas.
• Support internal program processes, reporting, and organizational learning.
