Job summary

Hendrick Motorsports in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated Race Engineer Intern. The role supports race engineers, car chiefs and crew chiefs with documentation, technical calculations, data analysis and fuel mileage from race events, plus data manipulation and reporting.

You will assist with installation, disassembly, inspection and repair of race car components, bring strong attention to detail, solid communication, and a willingness to learn in a fast-paced NASCAR environment.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a 4-year collegiate program pursuing an Engineering related degree, or currently possess an Engineering or technical related degree
• Strong communication skills and the ability to interact well with others
• Must be a team player and have a high level of integrity
• Must possess ability to work a flexible schedule
• Must possess thorough understanding of race cars, components and engineering concepts related to race cars
• Must possess solid tool, technical and computer skills
• Must possess strong attention to detail and the ability to problem solve
• Prefer prior experience with Engineering related software and programs
• Must have a minimum of a 3.0 GPA
• Must be at least a sophomore or second year student in the degree program being pursued
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Provide data manipulation, analysis, reporting and research support
• Assist with installation, disassemble, inspection and repair of race car components
• Support NASCAR Race Engineers, Car Chiefs and the Crew Chief with documentation, technical theory and calculations
• Contribute to data analysis and fuel mileage evaluations from race events
