As an Air Force chaplain, you will provide compassionate spiritual care to service members and their families. The role requires managing spiritual centers, conducting worship services, and guiding military leadership on ethical matters. Ideal candidates will possess both a Bachelor’s and a Master of Divinity, coupled with extensive pastoral experience.
Nothing tests religious beliefs more than many situations our Airmen face throughout their service. Providing pastoral care ministry and counseling to those of faith and those of no faith, Air Force chaplains are religious ministry professionals who support the spiritual resilience of our Airmen worldwide. As spiritual leaders, chaplains are relied upon for faith and personal guidance. They also advocate for our Airmen and consult with leadership on moral, ethical, and quality-of-life issues.
Responsibilities include:
Qualifications, Education, and Training
Pastoral Ministry Experience: Two years of religious ministry leadership experience
Denominations include Christian Protestant, Muslim, Jewish, Orthodox Christian, Roman Catholic, and other faith groups.
Additional requirements:
Personnel Status: Officer. When joining the chaplain corps, you will be commissioned as an officer. Your rank will depend on education level and experience.
