Our client, SERI is seeking an experienced R2 Assurance Director. The R2 Assurance Director works directly with the SERI Leadership Team and is responsible for the quality of the R2 Certification Program. The R2 Assurance Director will lead a team of technical specialists to spearhead oversight activities to ensure consistency of the standard across audits and certifications around the world.

This team will also help facilities implement the R2 Standard with articles, tools, and training. The R2 Assurance Director is responsible for ensuring clarity, accuracy, and consistency across all SERI’s communications about the R2 Standard, including articles, newsletters, social media posts, guidance, and oversight activities. This requires collaboration and supporting the Marketing Team and Certifications Team with a deep technical knowledge of the R2 Standard and perspective for the overall objectives of SERI and the R2 program.

Responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Responsible for SERI’s oversight activities under the R2 Assurance Program
• Perform spot inspections, perform witness inspections, and review audit packages
• Oversee the complaints process and support investigations
• Building assurance program infrastructure in new regions
• Oversee the rollout and implementation of an Enhanced Oversight Program for Customers/OEMs
• Oversee development of Auditor Continued Education Modules
• Respond to questions about the R2 Standard and Certification
• Oversee development of content for SERI’s R2 Knowledge Base

Qualifications will include but not be limited to:

• A minimum of 5 years experience in the reuse and recycling industries with responsibilities requiring extensive knowledge of the R2 experience is preferred
• Strong working knowledge of the electronics reuse and recycling industry with in-depth technical knowledge of electronics
• Understanding of the technologies, methods, and market forces at play in the industry
• Understanding of the various players in the industry, including their unique interests, concerns, and challenges, particularly as they relate to advancing SERI’s mission
• Understanding of the geographic and cultural challenges and opportunities inherent in the industry, particularly as they relate to advancing SERI’s mission
• Understanding of the relevant environmental, health, safety, and data security issues
• Experience creating presentation materials and conducting presentations and webinars
• Ability to obtain Visas and travel to all countries.
