Job summary

Domtar's Marlboro Mill in Bennettsville, SC seeks a Process Specialist to support the P&U area and lead maintenance planning efforts. The role reports to the R&U Manager and drives reliability and continuous improvement initiatives across Fiberline and R&U operations.

Ideal candidates hold a BS in Pulp & Paper or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience, strong safety mindset, and proficiency with SAP, Excel, and PI systems. On-site role with collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Pulp and Paper or Chemical Engineering with 5+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with boilers, evaporators, water/effluent, or recaust/kiln operations.
• Safety-focused with strong team orientation and independent work ability.
• Excellent communication and computer skills.
• Experience using SAP, Excel, Word, PI, PARCView, and MS Projects is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Be an advocate for and an active member of the P&U management team.
• Support all operations and maintenance activities of the R&U area.
• Review daily operations strategies to ensure safe and efficient goals.
• Identify and participate in continuous improvement activities.
• Review work orders and help prioritize weekly planning and scheduling.
• Assist in planning outages and respond to unscheduled events.
• Participate in selecting contractors and monitoring spend.
• Monitor day-to-day maintenance and spending against budgets.
• Facilitate communications between shift teams and staff.
• Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and SOP reviews.
• Assist in training personnel and occasionally fill vacancies.
