Job description

Need someone with strong R package development experience and familiarity with real-world datasets such as EMR, claims, and the OMOP data model. Proficiency in Git and Github is required.

Biostatistics and Research Decision Sciences (BARDS) Epidemiology (EPI) Real-world Data Analytics and Innovation (RDAI) team is seeking a Data Scientist responsible for developing Python/R software programs, documenting code, and programming requirements to support research studies advancing real-world data quality methodologies. The resource must be a subject matter expert (SME) in statistical methods, version control, and working with EHR, claims, and medical data in the pharmaceutical industry.

Scope:

Develop internal analytic packages in R/Python to enhance efficiency and quality of in-house secondary data analytics. Design and conduct data quality assessments across different indications and products. Develop reusable programming codes, build statistical models, and generate data quality reports. Participate in scientific publication development.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop analytic packages with commonly used functions applicable across multiple datasets and therapeutic areas.
  2. Develop and execute proof-of-concept use cases across therapeutic areas.
  3. Test usability and user access to developed packages.
  4. Document programming details, support report generation, and ensure proper version control.
  5. Pioneer and develop innovative statistical, machine learning (ML), and AI algorithms to extract insights from biological and healthcare datasets.
  6. Apply expertise in data science, including statistics, ML, AI, LLM, and NLP.
  7. Utilize engineering informatics, databases, web development, and programming in Python, R, and SQL.
  8. Experience with real-world data (RWD), biology, genetics, epidemiology, neuroscience, immunology, etc.
