Job summary

Tempo is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Technician with welding capabilities to produce parts and assemble testing apparatus for high‑temperature energy storage components. The role targets candidates with 2–4 years hands‑on experience, who can work independently and with teammates in a fast‑paced startup setting.

You will interpret CAD drawings, perform TIG/MIG welding, and modify components to support agile R&D.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or welding certification required.
• 2–4 years hands‑on experience in mechanical fabrication, welding, and assembly.
• Proficiency in TIG and MIG welding on various metals.
• Strong safety awareness and safe work practices.

Responsibilities

• Interpret CAD models, drawings, and specs to plan part manufacturing.
• Perform TIG/MIG welding on structural assemblies and operate shop equipment.
• Assist in assembling complex mechanical and electromechanical systems.
• Prepare components for dimensional accuracy and weld integrity.
• Modify and repair parts and test rigs for agile R&D needs.
