Job summary

Harmar Mobility LLC in the Town of Florida, NY is seeking an R&D Technician to join our product development team. You will build prototypes, perform hands-on testing, weld and machine parts, and help move concepts toward production readiness.

The role requires mechanical aptitude, electrical know-how, and the ability to read engineering drawings. You will work in a non-climate-controlled warehouse with a collaborative team focused on safe, accessible mobility solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to assemble mechanical systems.
• Working knowledge of electrical systems, wiring, sensors, and basic circuits.
• Proficiency in welding (MIG preferred).
• Experience with machining.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Build, assemble, and modify prototypes based on engineering drawings or instructions.
• Perform mechanical and electrical testing, collect data, and document results.
• Fabricate parts using manual machining equipment (mills, drill presses, etc.).
• Weld and fabricate components using MIG process as required.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in prototypes and test setups.
• Assist engineers with design improvements based on test results.
