Job summary

Job description

Position Overview

Intepros is seeking an R&D Test Technician to support engineers and researchers by preparing samples, operating laboratory and test equipment, executing established test methods, and collecting and organizing test data. The ideal candidate is hands-on, technically curious, detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable learning unfamiliar equipment and processes.

Primary Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and specimens for materials testing and characterization, including cutting, polishing, and metallographic preparation
• Perform materials analysis and characterization using laboratory and microscopy equipment
• Support analytical testing involving chemical sample preparation, cleaning, digestion, or related laboratory processes
• Operate mechanical and component test equipment, including universal test systems, leak or flow testing equipment, furnaces, coating equipment, and custom R&D test systems
• Perform electrical resistance measurements and other material or component testing as required
• Collect, organize, and present test results using established formats, including tables and graphs in Microsoft Excel
• Perform routine equipment setup, calibration, fixture changes, and basic troubleshooting
• Assist with the evaluation and initial operation of new test equipment, fixtures, and test methods
• Identify unusual test results, equipment behavior, or testing conditions and communicate findings to engineering personnel
• Provide occasional testing or inspection support to Quality and Manufacturing teams

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, or a related technical/scientific discipline, or equivalent relevant technical experience
• 2+ years of experience in a laboratory, engineering, manufacturing, quality, testing, or other technical environment preferred
• Strong hands-on mechanical and technical aptitude
• Ability and willingness to learn unfamiliar equipment, testing methods, and processes
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel for organizing and presenting technical data
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow technical procedures
• Ability to recognize unusual test results or equipment behavior
• Comfortable working in an R&D environment where priorities and assignments may change
