Boston Scientific is seeking an on-site Research & Development Technician Associate in Maple Grove, MN. You will support projects from exploratory research to new product development, including single-use and capital equipment devices, within the Interventional Cardiology division.

The six-month program runs from mid-May, with full-time hours during the summer and flexible schedules for students returning to coursework.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least one year of a two-year technical degree program or recently graduated with a two-year technical degree.
  • Pursuing or recently earned an Associate degree in electronics, automation/robotics or related technical field.
  • Willing to commit to a full six-month program and on-site work five days per week in Maple Grove, MN.
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Take lead from R&D staff and procure components for defined tasks.
  • Analyze and resolve design problems in device/product prototypes.
  • Design, fabricate, and prototype new device concepts addressing clinical feedback.
  • Develop new test methods for in vitro device testing.
  • Assist product development teams with device design and testing; troubleshoot design/process issues.
  • Plan activities to meet timelines and provide updates to the team.

During the summer, associates will work full-time, 40 hours per week. Once the academic year begins, current students can transition to a part-time schedule that accommodates their coursework, while recent graduates may continue working full-time for the duration of the six-month program.Throughout the experience, you’ll receive multiple program evaluations, check-ins, and development touchpoints to support your growth and provide ongoing feedback.In this role, you’ll contribute to real-world problem solving, design, prototyping, testing, and other R&D activities, with responsibilities aligned to your skills and strengths.
