As an R&D Technician, you will have a proficient level of technical knowledge and understanding of food science, ingredients, and processing, as well as different cooking methods and cuisines.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Together with R&D scientists, plan, execute & document R&D experiments for assigned projects, including literature searches, project ideation, bench production, sample analysis, data collection, preparation for sensory evaluations, and organization of project inventory.
  • Provide scale-up production and formulation support. This includes assisting in the production of product samples for internal and external requests.
  • Participate in the maintenance of the R&D laboratory and its related equipment.
WHAT WILL MAKE YOU SUCCESSFUL:
  • BS in food science, chemistry, chemical engineering, or other related science or engineering degree program, or a combination of education and relevant food experience; culinary experience will be viewed as a plus
  • A strong interest in research and development, coupled with prior experience conducting nutrition and/or food science research, will be highly advantageous.
  • 0 or more years of experience in Product Development and R&D within CPG, ingredients, food service, and/or restaurant environments.
  • Proficiency in basic food analysis (including pH, moisture content, water activity, and color), texture analysis, rheology, and shelf-life studies is a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team environment with minimal supervision while adhering to aggressive deadlines.
  • Ability to lift, kneel, bend over, squat, stoop, and carry 25 lbs.
