Job summary

Accelsius is seeking an R&D Technician to support the design, development and testing of new cooling products and technologies in our Austin lab. You will assemble test setups, wire instrumentation, and work with thermal and fluid systems to help engineers with experiments.

The role requires hands-on hardware experience, lab tool familiarity, and the ability to thrive in a fast-moving startup environment. Competitive benefits and equity are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a technical field preferred, but equivalent practical experience will be considered.
• Hands-on experience with hardware assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with lab tools, hand tools, and test equipment.
• Experience with brazing, soldering, or related mechanical techniques preferred.
• Familiarity with thermal and fluid systems, electronics troubleshooting, or instrumentation preferred.
• HVAC background is highly preferred; solid modeling and electrical skills are a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with teams in a startup.

• Plumbing, filling/discharging, troubleshooting of custom refrigeration systems.
• Support hardware prototyping, validation testing, and engineering experiments.
• Assist engineers with experimental setup, data collection, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• Support fabrication, welding, brazing, soldering, and mechanical integration activities as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve lab processes, test methodologies, and operational efficiency.

R&D Technician

Interested in getting in at the ground floor of a new, disruptive company attacking an important multi-billion-dollar problem? As AI, cloud computing, streaming, and IoT applications rapidly expand, data centers are facing unprecedented thermal and power challenges. Accelsius is developing revolutionary direct-to-chip, 2-phase cooling technologies that enable next-generation performance, sustainability, and scalability for Server OEMs, Data Centers, and Edge Computing Operators.

Accelsius is looking for a R&D technician to support the design, development and testing of new cooling products and technologies. This position will report directly to the Principal Engineer and the right candidate will be a curious, self-starter, with a great aptitude for electro-mechanical and fluid system problem solving.

Role Responsibilities:

• Assemble, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain lab test setups.
• Wiring of instrumentation, heaters, power supplies, sensors, etc.
• Plumbing, filling/discharging, troubleshooting of custom refrigeration systems.

• Positive attitude, curious personality, enjoys a variety of work and creating new things.
• Previous startup, hardware development, or R&D lab experience is a plus.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

• Ability to lift and move equipment up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to stand, bend, and work in a lab environment for extended periods.
• Comfortable working around mechanical, electrical, and fluid-based systems while following lab safety procedures.
