Job summary

KPMG LLP is seeking a Manager or Senior Manager in the AMCS (Accounting Methods and Credits Services) within our Business Tax Services practice in the United States. The role involves leading R&D tax credit consulting, advising on accounting methods, and coordinating multi-disciplinary project work for client locations.

Responsibilities include conducting client interviews, performing tax research, drafting memoranda, and building strong client relationships.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of recent experience in a public accounting firm or corporate taxation, including accounting methods and credits.
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.
• Licensed CPA, EA or JD/LLM; or other approved credentials with up to one year to obtain; complete list available via recruiter.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Access; experience performing internet research.
• Ability to travel and work at client locations.
• Senior Manager: experience mentoring staff and active new business development.

Responsibilities

• Conduct R&D tax credit consulting, including leading client interviews and discussions, performing tax technical research, and developing business expertise.
• Assist with federal tax consulting services including accounting method assessments and project design/implementation for revenue/expense recognition, capitalization, fixed assets, and inventories.
• Communicate directly with client personnel across operations, finance, accounting, and engineering.
• Manage and implement multiple projects simultaneously, coordinating client and KPMG resources.
• Assist with drafting opinion letters, IRS inquiries, IRS ruling requests and technical memoranda.
• Develop and sustain client relationships and assist in business development efforts.
• Act with integrity and uphold KPMG’s professional work environment.
• Senior Manager: engage in active new business development.
