Cherry Bekaert LLP is seeking an R&D Senior Associate to join our Tax Credits & Incentives Advisory team. You will work hybrid from any US office or remotely within the United States, focusing on R&D tax credits and related capitalization rules under IRC Section 174.

You will interview clients, document narratives, and model credits as part of a multidisciplinary team. Ideal candidates have accounting firm experience with IRC Section 41, recent software/engineering background, and strong

Qualifications

Experience with IRC Section 41 research credits.
Recent industry experience in software development, consulting, or engineering.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Provide tax consulting on the Research and Development Tax Credit and IRC 174 capitalization rules.
Conduct technical interviews to gather details on qualifying activities.
Draft project narratives showing how client projects meet Section 41 guidelines.
Scope Research Tax Credit benefits and interact with clients across industries.
Create costing models tracking business expenditures and credits.
