Job summary

Merit Medical Systems in South Jordan, UT is seeking a R&D Senior Engineer I (Endovascular) to design, develop and test endovascular devices, including stents, grafts and delivery systems. You’ll contribute to prototypes, ECNs and process improvements, collaborating with manufacturing, quality and regulatory teams.

Expect a full-time, on-site role with day shifts, and opportunities to advance in a growing medical-device environment focused on patient outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering or a technical field; six years related experience required
  • Master’s degree with four years related experience, or PhD with two years
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of US and international standards for the department
  • Proficient computer skills (spreadsheets, word processing, databases)

Responsibilities

  • Design, manufacture, and operation of structures, machines and systems for endovascular projects
  • Make decisions on technical problems using advanced techniques and extension of theories
  • Supervise technicians or others and collaborate with other engineers
  • Write ECNs and create prototypes
  • Work on special projects and related duties as required

Together, we are making a difference in the lives of patients around the world.**WORK SHIFT**DAY (United States of America)Preferred experience with:Fluoropolymer processing (e.g., PTFE, ePTFE)Stent/stent graft/endoprosthesis and delivery system (catheter) manufacturing and test methods (balloon-expandable and self-expanding systems)Nitinol and associated manufacturingCobalt chrome (CoCr) and associated manufacturingProcess engineering (IQ/OQ/PQ)**SUMMARY OF DUTIES**Performs intensive and diversified technical work such as the design, manufacture and operation of structures, machines and systems while completing projects in broad areas of assignment.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS PERFORMED1. Makes decisions on technical problems and methods which require the use of advanced techniques and the modification and extension of theories, precepts, and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines. 2. Receives supervision and guidance relating only to overall objectives, new concepts, and policy matters, while supervisor is consulted only concerning unusual problems and developments. 3. May supervise the work of technicians or others who assist in specific assignments and work jointly with other engineers. 4. Works on special projects, writes ECN's, and creates prototypes. 5.
