Job summary

The Pennsylvania State University’s Eberly College of Science seeks a Part Time Research Engineer for the Penn StateLIGO group to work on the SCIMMA project. You will join a small agile team, performing software and systems engineering across operations, AWS, and security domains.

Reporting to Dr. Chad Hanna, you will help build infrastructure to enable notice, analysis, and follow-up observations for astrophysical events, with responsibilities expanding as the project grows.

Qualifications

• Experience with AWS infrastructure, Terraform, Python, relational database administration, Kafka, identity management, and information security.

Responsibilities

• Support operations overview, AWS administration, and information security for SCIMMA.
• Contribute to agile development practices and project evolution.
