Job summary

The Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State is seeking analytical software engineers to join the Strategic Systems Operation Division within the Information Advantage Office. The role focuses on software implementation, testing, and productization, with on-site work in State College, PA and limited hybrid options based on project needs.

Travel will be required to sponsor locations and to associated contractor locations, with potential trips up to two weeks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle and OO design.
• Experience in Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Ability to collaborate with researchers, sponsors, and engineers to translate requirements.

Responsibilities

• Apply your expertise in software to programs with national or international impact.
• Ensure technical excellence and on-time completion of project tasks.
• Develop and deliver clear status updates to Fleet-level personnel.
• Collaborate with engineering teams, researchers, sponsors, and stakeholders.
• Contribute as a multi-disciplinary engineering team member and support DoD-related projects.
