Job summary

Keysight Technologies in Santa Rosa, California, is seeking a software-oriented hardware engineer to develop software that controls, calibrates, and applies corrections to complex instrument hardware. You will work with a global team to enable time-domain measurement instruments and contribute to new product concepts through robust software.

Qualifications include a BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with internships or 2–4 years of related experience, and strong C++/C# skills in Visual Studio.

Qualifications

• Open to BS or MS candidates in Electrical Engineering with relevant software experience.
• Experience designing software that controls hardware and discusses tradeoffs.
• End-to-end software designs for hardware control in high-frequency ranges (20–200 GHz).
• Ability to learn rapidly, collaborate across global teams, and document results.

Responsibilities

• Develop software to control, calibrate and apply corrections to hardware in time-domain instruments.
• Learn hardware architecture of sampling oscilloscopes and own software control for acquisitions.
• Collaborate with hardware design engineers to implement robust software features.
• Integrate designs into new instruments and support product lifecycle from concept to shipment.
• Document measurement IP and test methodologies for R&D and partners.
• Present technical information to customers and assist with integration.
• Continuously learn new technologies and adapt in a global team.
