Job summary

Arizona State University seeks a detail-oriented Lab and Research Assistant to support semiconductor pilot-line operations in the SHIELD USA program. You will help develop, fabricate, and test next-generation devices, translating concepts into repeatable pilot-scale processes while working with engineers and scientists.

The role requires hands-on experience in lab environments, strong chemical and contamination control practices, and the ability to follow complex procedures with precision.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 3 years of related experience, or equivalent
  • Familiarity with pilot-line or cleanroom environments is a plus
  • Associate degree or hands-on experience in electronics/semiconductor fields preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate, monitor, and maintain semiconductor processing equipment including lithography, deposition, and metrology
  • Document results from experimental runs and maintain logs
  • Perform wafer-level inspections and data collection for process characterization
  • Assist in troubleshooting equipment and processes with engineering staff
  • Maintain cleanroom safety and contamination control
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in yield, reliability and efficiency
  • Train junior technicians in operating procedures and best practices
  • Prepare technical summaries for review
