Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection in Tifton, GA seeks an R&D Scientist 1 to lead field research trials and evaluate insect, weed, and disease control products, contributing to product development and label expansion.

You will collaborate with universities, extension partners, CROs, and growers, analyze data, and provide technical recommendations to advance agricultural solutions and regulatory labeling initiatives.

Qualifications

• MS degree in Weed Science, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Nematology, or related field; PhD preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience with MS; 3 years with PhD.
• Experience conducting field efficacy trials evaluating crop protection products and biologicals.
• Strong knowledge of agronomy and crop production systems.
• Hands-on experience with agricultural equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage field research trials focused on crop protection, including insect, weed, disease, seed treatment, and biological solutions across a range of crops.
• Design, implement, and oversee efficacy trials with high-quality data collection to support product development and label expansion.
• Analyze research results and provide technical recommendations that drive product advancement.
• Collaborate with universities, extension partners, contract research organizations, and growers to deliver impactful research and partnerships.
• Provide technical expertise through training, demonstrations, and scientific documentation to support product positioning and regulatory labeling.
