Job summary

Xylem is seeking an R&D Product Engineer to maintain and improve wastewater treatment products and provide technical support to customers in the field and remotely.

This role collaborates with product management, sales support, and design teams to drive product changes, develop new offerings, and maintain design tools. Candidates hold a BS/MS in engineering, 3+ years in wastewater tech, and are proficient with Inventor or Creo; travel up to 20% may be required.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Engineering or 2 year technical school or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of wastewater product experience.
• Experience with Inventor and/or Creo Windchill.
• Ability to review draw/model changes and comment or alter as needed.
• Coordinate product changes with an international team.
• Proficient in Excel macros, VBA, pivot tables and charting tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and time management.
• Self-motivated, able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Review drawing update requests and coordinate changes with design/drafting.
• Provide mechanical product design support and basic electrical/automation input.
• Conduct value engineering reviews and implement changes.
• Work with product management and order execution on improvements.
• Assist in new product development using stage-gate processes.
• Maintain product information, design tools and estimating tools.
• Coordinate development of engineering/automation programs with teams.
• Provide product training to project engineering teams and sales staff.
• Travel to job sites for input or design evaluation; up to 20% travel.
