Job summary

E Ink Corporation is seeking a highly motivated Process Engineer to join our Research Division in Billerica, MA. You will develop, optimize, and troubleshoot lab- and pilot-scale coating and device-fabrication processes, collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate innovations into prototypes and eventual commercialization.

The role combines hands-on experimental work with engineering analysis, documentation, and strict adherence to EH&S and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field with 2+ years of industrial experience.
• Plan and execute experiments, collect data, analyze results, and recommend next steps.
• Experience developing, executing, or optimizing fabrication or manufacturing processes.
• Identify sources of variation and troubleshoot equipment, materials, and processes.
• Work independently while collaborating with scientists, engineers, and teams.
• Strong written/verbal communication and safety compliance.
• Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and optimize laboratory- and pilot-scale coating, lamination, and device-fabrication processes.
• Plan and conduct experiments to evaluate process parameters, materials, equipment settings, and device-build conditions.
• Analyze and interpret process data to identify trends and improvements.
• Investigate process variability and perform root-cause analysis.
• Develop robust procedures for multilayer coating, lamination, cutting, assembly, and testing.
• Own and maintain laboratory and pilot equipment, including operation and maintenance coordination.
• Evaluate process capability, repeatability, yield, and quality during experimental builds.
• Interface with cross-functional teams to translate innovations from concept to prototype.
• Perform mechanical testing of parts, films, and materials as needed.
• Prepare work instructions, SOPs, technical reports, and presentations.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, safety, and quality requirements.
