Job summary

Rite Stuff Foods in Jerome, ID, is seeking an R&D Process and Regulatory Technologist to lead research projects that support product quality and performance.

You will manage recipe data in SAP, run sensory tests, establish shelf life, and contribute to regulatory documentation and new product approvals. A foundation in Food Science and a hands-on, goal-oriented work style are essential.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Food Science or related field, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Customer focused mindset and strong communication.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and energized by building something from the ground up.
  • Independent, structured and goal-oriented work ethic.

  • Must be a self-starter able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of USDA/FDA food safety regulations; EU export experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Execute research and development testing plans/projects to support company objectives as directed by Head of NPD.
  • Ensure finished product specifications, batch sheets and process specs for quality and performance.
  • Maintain and update the company recipe program in SAP.
  • Carry out sensory tests to support new and product improvements.
  • Establish shelf life studies for ingredients, intermediates, WIP and finished goods.
  • Contribute to waste reduction and participate in plant improvement projects.
  • Assist with implementation of new equipment or automation projects.
  • Prepare regulatory documentation including cooking instructions, nutrition panels, packaging and art approvals, and pallet configurations.
  • Support timely approval of NPD documentation for new products and revisions.

Job Description – R&D Process and Regulatory Technologist
Responsibilities
  • Execute research and development testing plans/ projects in support of company objectives as directed /assigned by Head of NPD
  • Ensures, there are written, detailed finished product specifications, batch sheets and process specifications to support consistency in product quality and performance.
  • Responsible for ensuring effective and accurate entry and maintenance of company recipe program in SAP.
  • Responsible for execution of all sensory tests needed to support new and product improvement projects.
  • Establishes and confirms shelf life of ingredients intermediate work in progress and finished goods through structured studies and tests.
  • Integrally involved in waste reduction as part of process improvement
  • Integrally involved in new equipment or automation plant improvement projects.
  • Responsible for regulatory documentation including verification of cooking instructions, Nutritional Facts Panels (Genesis) ingredient declarations, packaging and art approvals, and pallet configurations.
  • Responsible to ensure timely approval of all NPD documentation to support New Product approvals, and existing product revisions.
Qualifications
  • Prefer Undergraduate degree in Food Science or related degree, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  • Customer focused mind set.
