Job summary

Rite Stuff Foods in Jerome, Idaho, is seeking an Operator to join the production team. You will run and set up processing equipment, follow recipes, monitor flow rates, temperatures and pressures, and ensure GMP/SQF compliance while producing high-quality appetizers and potatoes.

You must read and interpret operation manuals, troubleshoot basic issues, record daily production data, and work as part of a team.

Job Purpose:

As an Operator working with Rite Stuff Foods, you will join our site as part of our production team. This position focuses on ensuring the integrity and quality of producing products through proper operation of machines, detail of following recipes, troubleshooting, and correction of any deviation from this. The role demands a hands-on approach to uphold compliance with all relevant GMP and SQF Standards, and facilitating smooth and efficient system operations.

Job Description:
  • Follow established safety protocols and procedures to mitigate risks and ensure the well-being of all employees.
  • Effectively operate production machines to produce quality food products
  • Set up, start, and load food processing equipment.
  • Set and control flow rates, temperatures, and pressures of machinery.
  • Weigh, check and mix ingredients according to recipes
  • Monitor ingredient mixes and make needed adjustments during production processes.
  • Assist in maintaining food quality culture and facility cleanliness according to established standards.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as, operating instruction, procedures, and spec sheets.
  • Basic troubleshooting skills and basic mechanical aptitude
  • Possess verbal, written communication, and presentation skills
  • Sense of time urgency during start-up, shut down, and downtime
  • Record accurate production data on a daily basis, including writing down how much was produced, downtime, cause of downtime and employees on the line.
  • The ability to work as a team.
  • Be cognizant of any changes in a machine’s capabilities, and report any malfunctions to management.
  • Collect samples from the machines while in the middle of processing to visually inspect the quality of the food.
  • Able to stand for long time periods to monitor production process and lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Experience with SQF and GMP programs
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to support production needs.

Safety:
  • Familiar with basic safety of production equipment procedures.
  • Good Safety Practices, PPEs, SOPs, and LOTO (Lock Out/Tag Out)
Troubleshooting:
  • Ability to troubleshoot.
  • Able to identify root-causes of a problem by proper use of instruments and knowledge of machine operation
  • Familiar with preparation and implementations of SOP and the ability to address rest of the food production team
Instrumentation / Calibration:
  • Knowledge of common measuring instruments and their properties.
Continuous Improvement:
  • The candidate will be requested to participate and contribute to the plant continuous improvement activities and predictive maintenance.
  • Food manufacturing experience.
Work attitude:
  • Organized, in his daily routine as well as in the workplace.
  • Keeps personal and common tools and instruments neat and in good working conditions.
  • Anticipate any issue (necessary spare parts, tools, consumables, etc.) to avoid delays in production and equipment down time.
Languages:
  • English: fluent or advanced level
