Job summary

Advanced Energy, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, seeks a Quality Control Technician for its R&D pilot line in Redwood City, CA. You will verify and validate early builds, auditing prototypes to meet internal and customer quality standards before scaling production.

You will collaborate with Quality Managers and NPI teams to detect risks early and help generate Product Quality Plan documents with inspection checkpoints and CTQ elements.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, BOMs, and assembly docs.
• Understanding defect categorization, rework tags, NCR processes.
• Ability to clearly communicate audit findings to operators and engineers.
• Basic data entry, documentation, and reporting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-process and final quality audits on prototypes and pilot units.
• Verify conformance to drawings, BOMs, and work instructions.
• Check work instructions, travellers, and inspection records for accuracy.
• Audit assembly processes for IPC standards and workmanship.
• Record and classify quality issues in the QMS.
• Work with engineers to identify root causes and validate corrections.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and rework validation.
• Monitor NP I quality metrics like FPY and conformance.
• Train build operators on quality criteria and defect awareness.
• Collaborate on Product Quality Plan documentation with CTQ elements.
