Bracco Medical Technologies in Eden Prairie, MN is seeking a Packaging Engineering Co-op to determine packaging requirements for sterile and non-sterile medical devices, develop configurations, and support validation activities and shelf-life studies.

You will continuously improve packaging methods, pursue cost savings, and explore sustainable packaging while documenting engineering protocols and reports; strong cross-functional collaboration is essential.

Qualifications

  • Sophomore or junior-level student pursuing a Bachelor’s in Packaging Engineering or related concentration.
  • GPA at least 2.8 on a 4.0 scale required.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Able to participate full-time (40 hours/week).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently with cross-functional teams (operations, quality, regulatory, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication; capable of developing protocols and reports.

Responsibilities

  • Determine requirements for packaging of sterile and non-sterile medical devices; identify materials and packaging configurations.
  • Develop process validation protocols (OQ/PQ) and packaging design verification activities.
  • Conduct shelf-life studies and continuously improve packaging methods and cost-efficiency.
  • Identify packaging technologies to improve processes and implement sustainable packaging.
  • Define and generate all required documentation to support medical device packaging and processes, including protocols and reports.
  • Identify root causes of failures in sterile barrier packaging and plan improvements.

As a Packaging Engineering Co-op, you will -Determine requirements of medical device packaging for both sterile and non-sterile medical devices in order to identify material, develop packaging configurations, process validation protocols (OQ/PQ), packaging design verification activities and shelf-life studiesContinuously improve packaging methods, implement cost savings, and identify improvements in sustainable packaging.Assist in identifying packaging technologies to improve current process and proceduresDefine and generate all required documentation in support of medical device packaging and processes, including engineering protocols and reports.Identify root cause for any failures in sterile barrier packaging and identify action plan for improvements/retestingTraining to be ProvidedStudents will be exposed to working with various operations and product support departments within Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT). They will learn key requirements that need to be followed in a regulated environment, such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products.Additionally, our interns and co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming, and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.QualificationsMinimum:Bachelor’s degree student with a sophomore or junior-level class standingPursuing a bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, or a related concentration.Minimum 2.8 out of 4.0 cumulative GPALegally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the futureAble to participate full-time (40 hours/week)Other:Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Ability to work independently with team members from various disciplines, e.g., operations, quality, regulatory, supply chain, etc.Team player with effective verbal and written communication skills.Technical writing skills, and ability to develop protocols and reports to qualify design changes.Job LocationEden Prairie, Minnesota (no relocation or housing assistance available) Term/HoursSpring and Summer of 2026.
