This paid co-op offers hands-on training, a buddy program, and opportunities to collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, and regulatory teams during a 2-3 semester rotation across Fall, Spring, and Summer sessions.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate student pursuing Electrical or Biomedical Engineering.
  • Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills; able to work in a cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in medical device design, circuit design, prototyping and testing.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including design specs and test reports.
  • Participate in design reviews and help improve the design process.

This co-op position is a fantastic opportunity to apply your electrical engineering skills and knowledge in a real-world setting, contributing to the creation of life-saving medical devices.Key responsibilities will include:Assisting in the design and development of medical devices, including circuit design, prototyping, and testing;Developing and maintaining technical documentation, including design specifications and test reports;Participating in design reviews and contributing to the improvement of the design process.Some potential tasks/projects include: reliability engineering support, EMC / IEC 60601-1-2 support, lab management and asset tracking, test fixture development including Altium/ECAD, engineering FMEA documentation improvement, developing board-level reliability models, and design verification support.Training to be ProvidedStudents will be exposed to working with various product development departments within Bracco Medical Technologies (BMT). They will learn key requirements that need to be followed in a regulated environment such as the medical device industry. Training may cover relevant aspects of medical device development procedures, along with more specific aspects related to BMT products. Additionally, our co-ops benefit from a buddy program, career development programming and opportunities to build their professional networks virtually and in-person with BMT professionals.QualificationsMinimum:Bachelor’s degree student with a sophomore or junior level class standingPursuing a bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Biomedical EngineeringMinimum 3.0 out of 4.0 cumulative GPALegally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without the need for sponsorship for an employment visa in the futureAble to participate full-time (40 hours/week)Preferred:Familiarity with electrical design tools, preferably AltiumFamiliarity with electrical test equipment (oscilloscope, digital multi-meter, programmable load)Familiarity with software tools and programming languagesStrong problem solving and analytical skillsAbility to work independently with team members from various disciplines, e.g., hardware, software, mechanical, quality, regulatory, etc.Team player with effective verbal and written communication skillsTechnical writing skills, ability to develop reports for technology developmentJob LocationEden Prairie, Minnesota (no relocation or housing assistance available) Term/HoursFall / Spring / Summer, 2-3 semester rotation, can be consecutive or non-consecutive semesters.Hours: 40 hours per weekCompensation & Total Rewards:Estimated Pay Range: $23.00 – $25.00/hour*Estimated Starting Pay Range is reflective of the range Bracco Medical Technologies reasonably expects to pay for the position.
