As an R&D Mechanical Project Engineer, you will perform a variety of engineering tasks including designing, developing, testing, analyzing, troubleshooting and implementing sub-assemblies and modules as you create and evaluate designs to meet requirements of specified applications. Your design activities will include high vacuum system design, Chassis and enclosure design, making all necessary parts and assembly drawings and Create part numbers and BOMs.

You will be involved in a variety of tasks, including system design, prototyping, and testing, all aimed at ensuring the smooth operation of our diverse team and the successful delivery of high-quality products. In this role, you will collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to conceptualize, design, prototype, and test.

Responsibility:

  • Develop vacuum related module from concept to completion, and final release to manufacturing based on requirements of functionality, performance, serviceability.
  • Create detailed 3D model and 2D drawings of parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor CAD software.
  • Work with vendors and consultants to select, develop, analyze and fabricate components and sub-assemblies.
  • Work cross-functionally and drive implementation of design best practices into product design.
  • Deliver clear technical documents, provide effective presentation and written evaluations to communicate concepts, designs, test results, etc.
  • Provide tech support for system integration process, manufacturing process and field troubleshooting process.

Requirements:

  • BA related to Mechanical Engineering.
  • Strong Hands-on proficiency with 3D modeling & 2D detailed drawings using CAD software including AutoCad and Inventor.
  • 3+years of hands-on experience in mechanical hardware developing within a corporate setting working on a complex engineering product.
  • 3+years of hands-on experience within Instrument Design.
  • 2+years of hands-on experience with Vacuum experience.
  • 2+years of hands-on experience with vacuum standard parts including but not limited to pumps, valves, gauges etc.
  • 2+years of hands-on experience with Plastic Molding experience.
  • Experience in designing mechanical parts and assemblies for vacuum applications.
  • Hands-on experience with vacuum system operation and diagnostic.
  • Knowledge with materials and material selection, manufacturing and cleaning processes.
  • Capability to both evaluate and work with outside contractors, consultants, and machine shops.
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite to include: Word, Excel and Outlook.
