Penn State University's Applied Research Laboratory (ARL), within the SHARP department, seeks Mechanical Engineers for on-site roles in State College, PA. The position involves concept development, design analyses, and collaborative research supporting DoD sponsors and national security missions.

Ideal candidates will have a Bachelor's in Engineering or Science and experience with automation, field fabrication, and 3D modeling.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Science and progressively responsible experience.
• Experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary teams and solving undefined problems.
• Ability to design and implement automation and control systems in field/ shop environments.

Responsabilités

• Assist or manage concept development and design analyses of engineering systems.
• Identify problems and develop long-term solutions for customer needs.
• Lead tasks within project scope and collaborate with researchers.
• Prepare papers, proposals, and reports; present findings as needed.
• Conduct R&D activities to solve DoD-related challenges and advance national security missions.
• Plan analytical studies, modeling, simulations, experiments, and demonstrations.
