Job summary

Oetiker Tool Corporation is seeking a motivated R&D Mechanical Engineer to turn customer needs into final products. You will design and develop new hand tools, create concepts and prototypes, and document assemblies for production.

You will perform tests, analyses, and ensure quality while collaborating with global teams. The role requires 3+ years in R&D for consumer products, a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• 3D-CAD proficiency and drafting ability.
• Engineers should perform FEA and tolerance studies.
• Experience with Six Sigma methodologies.
• Ability to collaborate across functions and teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new mechanical hand tools with design for industrialization.
• Create concepts, prototypes, drawings, and product documentation.
• Run feasibility, verification, and validation tests and improve test methods.
• Perform engineering analyses including FEA and stress analyses.
• Assist with customer quality issue resolution and product improvements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
• Apply state-of-the-art engineering tools and risk management.
• Define technical requirements and track fulfillment.
