Job summary

EaglePicher Technologies in Joplin, MO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the Research and Development team. You will design, develop and qualify mechanical components and battery packs for defense, aviation and space applications.

You will work closely with R&D and Manufacturing to translate concepts into reliable production-ready solutions, create drawings and BOMs, perform tolerance analysis, and support environmental testing and documentation.

Qualifications

• U.S. Persons.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0-7 years experience in R&D or Product Development.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written.
• Able to contribute to a collaborative team environment.
• Self-motivated and hands-on. Detail oriented and able to manage multiple tasks.
• Fluency with 3D CAD modeling using SolidWorks.
• Experience in FEA (ANSYS) and other numerical modelling methods will be helpful.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and qualify mechanical components and battery packs per customer specs.
• Create drawings, BOMs and document control compliant with company methods.
• Coordinate with R&D and Manufacturing to scale from development to pilot production.
• Perform tolerance analysis and weight/dimension calculations for parts.
• Support thermal and mechanical development phases including testing environments.
• Interface with cross-functional teams and external customers.
