Harley-Davidson Motor Company’s Product Development Center in Wauwatosa, WI is seeking an experienced Mechanic for R&D work across multiple labs. The role supports prototype build, design verification, and manufacturing and racing projects with opportunities to learn new skills and adapt to evolving products.

Qualifications

• Eight years minimum experience as a Professional Mechanic or RD Technician, or related skilled trades.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Vehicle configuration - prototype to current product, including troubleshooting and repair.
• Engine building - from prototype to current product with component iteration.
• Support regulatory testing and compliance.
• Weld critical assemblies with attention to strength and distortion.
• Interpret engineering drawings for design intent and tolerances.
• Fabricate and layout components; design/build tools and fixtures.
• Set-up and operate manual milling, turning, drilling and grinding machines.
• Demonstrate competence in using precision measuring devices.
