Job summary

Meridian Bioscience Inc. seeks a Manager, R&D to drive a pipeline of new assays for the POC primary care market (Pediatric, OB/Gyn & Family Practice) and complementary tests to the lead platform.

You will guide electrochemical sensor and reagent development, plan from conception to launch, and coordinate with Corporate R&D and external resources to meet timelines and budgets. The role requires leadership, strategic thinking, and strong communication to interpret data, assess risks, and report

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or Engineering with leadership experience.
• Experience: 12+ years with Bachelor, 9+ years with MS, or 7+ years with PhD; minimum 3 years leadership.
• Knowledge of FDA regulatory requirements for IVD products.
• Travel: 10%
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of electrochemical sensor systems from concept to commercial launch.
• Collaborate across departments to define requirements, milestones, and budgets; ensure regulatory paths.
• Develop methodologies and documentation for transfer to manufacturing.
• Manage internal and external development vendors for hardware, software, and firmware.
• Lead a team of scientists and engineers to deliver agreed goals.
• Maintain quality laboratory standards and record keeping.
