Job summary

Jobgether SRL is seeking an R&D Manager to lead a globally distributed software R&D team, focusing on delivering SaaS applications, analytics, data pipelines, and enterprise integrations while aligning with product strategy.

You will drive agile planning, mentor engineers, and partner across product, architecture, and operations to ensure delivery that prioritizes business impact and customer value.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading people, projects, programs, or technical delivery teams.
  • Experience leading software development or technical delivery in SaaS, enterprise applications, analytics, monitoring, data platforms, or related digital product environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, agile delivery, release planning, sustaining support, and cross-functional product development.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee priorities, staffing, operations, and delivery for an assigned software R&D team.
  • Provide direct people leadership, coaching, performance management, and career development for software engineers, technical contributors, and contractors.
  • Partner with product management, architecture, quality, SRE, support, IT, marketing, and other stakeholders to align plans with business objectives and product strategy.
  • Lead development and delivery for SaaS applications, analytics, monitoring, data pipelines, integrations, and enterprise software capabilities.
  • Support new product development and sustaining engineering, including participation in production incident triage and follow-up.
  • Establish operating practices that improve planning discipline, execution predictability, quality, communication, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Identify delivery risks, technical issues, dependencies, and resource constraints, driving mitigation, escalation, and corrective actions.
  • Conduct and support research, development, and technical evaluation activities aligned with long-term product and technology objectives.
  • Contribute to technical decisions involving cloud-native architectures, data-centric systems, APIs, enterprise integrations, observability, cybersecurity, and operational readiness.
  • Drive agile planning, prioritization, backlog alignment, and coordination across globally distributed teams.

Accountabilities:

As R&D Manager, you will oversee team operations, delivery execution, people development, and cross-functional alignment while ensuring software initiatives remain focused on business and customer priorities.

Requirements

The ideal candidate combines software delivery experience with people or technical leadership capabilities and the ability to operate effectively across distributed, cross-functional environments.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience.
  • At least 2 years of formal or informal experience leading people, projects, programs, or technical delivery teams.
  • Experience leading software development or technical delivery in SaaS, enterprise applications, analytics, monitoring, data platforms, laboratory informatics, or related digital product environments.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle practices, agile delivery, release planning, sustaining support, and cross-functional product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities, resolve ambiguity, develop people, and maintain execution focus within globally distributed teams.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience in life sciences, laboratory informatics, scientific instruments, services, or regulated enterprise environments is preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise or B2B cloud platforms, SaaS, data and analytics, monitoring, integrations, or customer-facing digital platforms is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data-centric architectures, including batch or streaming pipelines, data models, and integration patterns.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architectures, microservices, APIs, web applications, containerization, CI/CD, and DevOps practices.
  • Experience supporting both new product development and sustaining activities for deployed enterprise software products.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts, predictive analytics, IoT/edge systems, telemetry ingestion, digital twins, or data-driven laboratory operations is an advantage.
  • Experience with agile methodologies, distributed collaboration, and cross-functional planning across product, engineering, architecture, quality, and operations.
